ABOUT THE PROJECT
Mitsubishi Heating & Cooling approached us with the need to update their legacy contractor-focused AR product application. The AR app was used at client locations to showcase product in environment, provide specifications to customers, get relevant product documentation and specifications, and offers the ability to share a rendered image with customers or via social platforms.
For this project I led an integrated, cross-functional team along with being the client liaison.
Our first step was to work with our client team to gather and understand user needs, feedback from contractors, and business requirements for the modernization of the application. We worked with our client team to both understand user needs and the technology challenges a contractor might have with the application. This allowed us to not only consider a simple, intuitive user interface but how to architect workflow and content to easily educate while not impeding the quick use of the application.
Once gathered, we worked through design and development iteratively with the client to get the product into beta. Through the app stores, we were able to deploy to select users for hands-on user testing, where we gathered feedback for adjustments needed before go live.
All work was done in an hybrid-agile methodology, allowing us to iteratively work with our client to define, develop, test and deploy the updated mobile application.
